Volunteering for the Scottsdale International Film Festival is fun, a great way to meet like-minded people AND a sure fire way to enjoy great film from around the World for free. If you are willing to commit your time to the Festival we are willing to offer you various opportunities. You may invest as little as 4 hours or many weeks of work. Of course, we will compensate you fairly with passes or tickets commensurate with the level of your assistance.

We are seeking volunteers in the following areas:

Team Supervisor  
The Scottsdale International Film Festival seeks a Team Supervisor to coordinate its volunteers. The job is described below and comes with a VIP pass and T-shirt. Interested candidates should reply to ScottsdaleIFF@aol.com with their phone number and email address. Replies should indicate basic qualifications and reasons for being considered for the position.

Supervising requires coordination of the volunteer staff and schedules for the dates of October 3 to October 6, 2009. You MUST have access to and the ability to utilize Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.

The Festival is responsible for finding the volunteers and redirects the interested candidates to the Supervisor for scheduling. 

The Supervisor assures that staff is assigned to shifts of their choice and that they are clear on policies for tickets and audience management. The Supervisor also conveys the volunteer comp ticket requests and T-shirt sizes back to the Festival Director. 

The Supervisor will fill all shifts prior to the Festival and forward the volunteer schedule to the Festival Director. Should there be last minute volunteer dropouts the Supervisor may opt to fill in when no one else can be slotted. The role begins in mid-August and goes through October as follows:

I - Schedule the theatre staff from October 3 to 4, 2009
- Staff hours are likely to go from 8:30 am to midnight
II - Schedule the theatre staff from October 5 & 6, 2009
- Staff hours are likely to go from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm

Theater Staff –
Tasks include ticket tearing and handing out program guides. Shifts run in four hour increments depending upon the film schedule. All volunteers receive T-shirts and one free Festival movie ticket for each completed shift. (Opening Night tickets do not qualify for comps.)

Please indicate the dates and blocks of time in which you prefer to work and your T-shirt size. The following times are approximate until September when the film schedule is completed.

Saturday, October 3; or Sunday, October 4:
Shift 1:  8:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Shift 2:  12:30 PM to 4:30 PM
Shift 3:  4:30 PM to 8:30 PM
Shift 4:  8:30 PM to midnight

Monday, October 6; or Tuesday, October 7:
Shift 5:  4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Shift 6:  8:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Hospitality Coordinator –
This position involves a kid gloves approach to arranging the transportation and stay for all visiting talent. The Coordinator makes travel arrangements for visiting actors including plane reservations, limo arrangements on both ends, hotel reservations, and coordinates with any designated PR firms to confirm arrangements. The Coordinator will also shuttle visiting guests from the airport to hotel, hotel to theatres, and all returns to hotels, theatres and airports. The Hospitality Coordinator is likely to assist guests personally while they are in town and will work closely with the Executive Director. Video Projectionist –
Some of the programming for the Festival is on video and therefore requires several volunteers who are comfortable running a video projector and sound board. (At this time we do not have any idea of the schedule for projection.) As a projectionist volunteer you will receive a Full-Festival pass and T-shirt.
