Scottsdale International Film Festival Poster Contest Open for Submissions!

Calling all designers, artists and creative minds! The 2016 Scottsdale International Film Festival (SIFF) is seeking poster design submissions from Arizona-based artists! 

This October, the 16th annual SIFF will bring together lovers of all types of cinema to enjoy a variety of titles ranging from major Academy Award winners to undiscovered indie gems before they are widely distributed throughout the U.S. and internationally.

Submit your original artwork celebrating the beloved Festival’s ongoing mission to connect audiences with award-winning cinema from around the globe that embodies courage, diversity and artistic innovation!

The winning design receives a prize package valued at $1,000 (including two VIP passes to the 2016 SIFF), name recognition in 70,000 printed SIFF programs, bragging rights and more!

Guidelines

Be creative! Poster submissions should incorporate the themes of Scottsdale and foreign film, and appeal to a wide audience (SIFF showcases family friendly to R-rated titles).

Any type of media that is original art by the entrant that follows requirements and specs and is submitted by the deadline will be considered.

Artwork Requirements and Specs

Submitted artwork must measure 27” W x 40” H as a digital file no larger than 5MB.

Posters must include:

  • Event Dates: “October 6 – 10, 2016”
  • SIFF URL: “ScottsdaleFilmFestival.com”
  • SIFF Logo
  • Harkins Theatres Logo
  •  A blank, 27” W x 7.5” H band at the footer (SIFF will use this space to recognize supporters and sponsors)

Please note: Any posters containing material that is copyrighted or offensive in nature will be ineligible.

To Submit

All entries must be original art and follow provided guidelines, requirements and specs. Files may not exceed the size of 5MB and must be uploaded to the SIFF website with the completed form.

Any media is suitable as source material, but all submissions must be in an electronic format submitted as a high resolution EPS or PDF file.

Winner:

The maximum sum that will be awarded to the winner is two (2) VIP Passes to the 2016 Scottsdale International Film Festival, (2) Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts (SCPA) Duet Memberships, (2) Scottsdale Cinematheque Passes, and (2) Subscriptions to Talk Cinema at SCPA for a total value of $1,018.00. In order to claim their prize, the winner must disclose their Social Security number to the SIFF. Any federal, state, or other tax, license, or fee imposed upon the winner or the prize will be the sole responsibility of the winner.

All profits from any sale of the poster will go to the SIFF. The sole financial consideration for the artist is the prize. Posters may be displayed at the SIFF, reproduced in the official program and/or on the official SIFF website, at the sole discretion of the SIFF.

Entry Deadline:

Entries must be submitted electronically through the SIFF website by 11:59 p.m. MDT on June 18, 2016. 


Restrictions and Rights:

The contest is open to all Arizona artists 18 years of age or older. The contest is not open to SIFF employees, members, their families, family members of the judges or Scottsdale Cultural Council employees or family members. No shared work or copyrighted work is allowed. Entry limit: one per individual.

The winning entry becomes the property of SIFF. Winner must supply SIFF with a working artwork file. Sponsor logos will be added to the winning image and other additions or changes may be applied as necessary by the SIFF art department.

Except as used by the SIFF, all artists, including the winner, will retain the rights to their work. Entry in the contest constitutes full permission to publish name, photo and artwork of winner without further compensation. The determination of eligibility of entries and any interpretation of these rules is at the sole discretion of the SIFF, and shall be final and binding upon all entrants.

By participating, the entrant agrees to abide by and be bound by these rules.
