







RECORD ATTENDANCE AND OTHER WORLDLY FILMS MAKE FOR THE BEST YEAR YET FOR 2011 SCOTTSDALE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL!
SCOTTSDALE, AZ (October 6, 2011) — An all-time high of 8,500 people came out to the 11th annual Scottsdale International Film Festival this year to take in some of the best foreign film the Festival has brought to Scottsdale so far. Harkins Shea 14 hosted the event, with 35 films from around the world to please cinema buffs and Festival newbies alike. In its eleventh year, the Festival still continues to grow - attendance increased 2,000 from last year - and remains an important platform for international independent films that embody courage, diversity, and artistic innovation.
The Festival kicked off on September 30 with the opening night film LIKE CRAZY starring Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones. The two stars attended to present the film and participated in a post-film discussion with the audience. Also in attendance was John Sayles to present his film AMIGO. He also participated in the post-film discussion with the audience. Sayles was the Festival's first recipient of the Artistic Diversity Award.
The Festival, which ran through October 4, also premiered 10 films, hosted 12 question-and-answer sessions, showed films from 27 countries around the world and had nine sold out performances.
The Audience Award for Best Film went to THE WOMEN ON THE 6TH FLOOR from France.
