The Scottsdale Film Festival Hits
a New Attendance Record
The Scottsdale International Film Festival (SIFF), which ran October 5
through October 9, 2007, made a giant smash on the Scottsdale landscape.
This year well over 6,000 people attended a record number of sold out performances.
Festival Highlights:
The Valley premieres of such highly praised titles as THE KITE RUNNER,
LARS AND THE REAL GIRL (starring Ryan Gosling), and THE DIVING BELL &
THE BUTTERFLY firmly establish this Festival with its audience and with industry
entities alike.
The premiere of THE KITE RUNNER is one of only two U.S. screenings to take
place and then the film will be pulled from its November release schedule
until mid-December while the filmmakers attempt to get the two boys starring
in the film out of Afghanistan.
Special Appearances:
Jennifer Tilly presented
her film INTERVENTION and participated with the audience in a lively and
informative Q&A. Ms. Tilly also attended the opening night film and party
and held court with party-goers into the wee hours of the night.
Darren Pang and
Dave Strader of the Phoenix Coyotes talked with the audience after THE ROCKET
and shared inside information about Maurice Richard and the history of hockey.
Audience Award for
