Naturally, however, all Fred dreams about is to live like Vincent and Georges. It is subsequently revealed that Vincent is seeing another woman, and keeping the affair secret from his friends and from his wife Gabrielle (Gainsbourg). But she's fully aware of it, and quietly hopes things will all work out.
